I absolutely love Christmas… everything about it. This is the most exciting Christmas for me so far. My little 2 year old actually understands and gets to be apart of what is going on. My favorite thing about Christmas of all, besides the birth of our incredible Savior, is giving gifts. I love seeing the look on someone’s face when I have surprised them with something they didn’t ask for but know they will want. Those are my favorite gifts of all. I scored this year on my hubby’s gift. He has no idea what he is getting, because he didn’t have it on his list, but he is going to love it. That will be one of my favorite moments this year.
I have been wanting to instill in my daughters that Christmas is about giving and not receiving. So this year Eden (my 2 year old) and I took a special shopping trip without daddy or sissy and she got to pick out presents for her sister, grandparents, and aunts/uncles. She was most excited about picking something out for Avey. Every toy isle we would go down she would say “you think she would like this one mommy??” pointing to a toy. What melted my heart is that the entire shopping trip she did not ask for a toy once….
I can’t wait for her to hand out all her presents Christmas morning and feel the same joy in giving that I find. Below are some pictures of us picking out our tree and Eden and I making our fist gingerbread house (or rather, the eating of the first gingerbread house). While I was snapping pictures of her I realized she had eaten a handful of candy off of the house and told her she couldn’t have any more… that is where the crying pictures come in
