This shoot has been a few weeks in the making; awhile ago I blogged about “shooting for me“ and really embracing and owning my style. I joined forces with my friend, Tiffany Garcia (makeup artist/stylist), and we planned a shoot just for us—something that would make our creativity sing. No string attached. Shortly after tossing around the idea of a vintage shoot, I was contacted by my new and talented friend, Tristian Skidmore, owner and maker of Gracylu Originals, to shoot some of her new hair pieces. I knew I wanted to incorporate beautiful hair pieces into this shoot so I jumped at the chance. Each hairpiece from this set was individually handcrafted by Gracylu Originals. Tiffany did all the makeup and styling for the models, right down to the rings on their fingers. She works closely with me on my senior shoots and this was the perfect opportunity for her to showcase her talents. Also, at the last minute we had fun, hip, and oh-so-talented Courtney Mattila jump on board for hair styling. She did an exquisite job and I just love how everything turned out!
Samantha Brown, Krista Kintner, and Ceilidh Emerick were DREAM models to work with. We had such a fun, girly time—exactly how I envisioned it. I can’t get over how natural these girls are in front of the camera. They really are the sweetest girls with hearts of pure gold. We really bonded with each other treading through cow manure, freezing our buns off, and being spooked by random horses. We made a fun “behind the scenes video” that I will post when it is finished. We walked away from this shoot with some beautiful images, showcased talent, and new friendships.
