Cupcakes and Love

I have a slight… more like a massive addiction to sugar. So when Tiffany and Kevin told me they really didn’t drink coffee (my other addiction), I happily suggested we start out our session at the local cupcake shop. Tiffany moved here not long ago from the Seattle area and I wanted to show her that even though we lack the big city culture and vibe, we at least have one cupcake shop . I loved strolling our downtown area with them and hearing their story; how they both went to WSU (like me), how they connected in Seattle, and have decided to start their lives here in the Tri-cities. Clients always become more than clients, they become friends. I am so honored to capture their story, their love, and their connection to produce images that they will have and remember forever. Engagements are so special to me. I love to capture life stories and these sessions are usually the first chapter in a lifetime of stories. I can’t wait to see where life takes them!

A Perfect Start

This session was one of my first sessions of 2011 that we shot back in January. I absolutely love photographing engagement sessions and capturing the love two people share. I really connected with them as their personalities are absolutely contagious. They are new to the area so I had fun showing them some peculiar places that I shoot that they didn’t know existed. They were my perfect start to a great year!

I have so many sessions I haven’t had time to share on my blog. I shot this senior session last fall and am excited to share beautiful Brittney with you. This girl is beautiful from the inside out. I know I say that a lot about my clients, but it’s simply the truth. One of my favorite things about my job is seeing the beauty in each person I photograph and bringing that out and showing them just how captivating they are.

I just bought the new Taylor Swift CD this past week and can’t stop listening to her song “Never Grow Up.” I have sang it to my girls at least a dozen time in the last few days. It’s so amazing how fast they grow. I am trying to take in every moment big and small; cuddle a little longer, play with them a little harder, and as many “I love you’s” and kisses as I can get in! You gotta go listen to this song in the background as you scroll through these images.

Hey friends… Hello? *tapping the mic.* Anybody out there still? I have been an awful blogger lately. The busy season hit and I have spent all my time working on sessions and with clients that the blog has taken the backseat. The good news is, the busy season is slowing down and I can’t wait to share all the sessions from this past summer/fall. Lots of post to come over the next few weeks!

In addition to that, I have been working on all sorts of new things for the new year! I have been working up some gorgeous new product, packages, mentoring offerings, and some more secrets I have up my sleeve… Be on the lookout for announcements and lots of new stuff coming to Photography by Meg in the coming weeks!

In other news, this is Nikki, isn’t she a doll?? We had such a fun time picking pears in the orchard and trying out some beautiful pieces. She reminded me so much of the beautiful Carrie Underwood. She got her braces off just days before the session, so we got lots of great shots of her new pearly whites!
