I got the chance last week to do some fun product photography for some wonderful designers. I love these type of shoots because I get to let all my creative juices out and put my own personal touches into the shoot.

Hey friends… Hello? *tapping the mic.* Anybody out there still? I have been an awful blogger lately. The busy season hit and I have spent all my time working on sessions and with clients that the blog has taken the backseat. The good news is, the busy season is slowing down and I can’t wait to share all the sessions from this past summer/fall. Lots of post to come over the next few weeks!

In addition to that, I have been working on all sorts of new things for the new year! I have been working up some gorgeous new product, packages, mentoring offerings, and some more secrets I have up my sleeve… Be on the lookout for announcements and lots of new stuff coming to Photography by Meg in the coming weeks!

In other news, this is Nikki, isn’t she a doll?? We had such a fun time picking pears in the orchard and trying out some beautiful pieces. She reminded me so much of the beautiful Carrie Underwood. She got her braces off just days before the session, so we got lots of great shots of her new pearly whites!

Brotherly Love

I wish I could blog every session, but with how crazy the busy season has been, it just hasn’t been possible. My schedule has been jam packed with seniors for the last two months so I was thrilled that I had a children’s session coming to break things up. I had so much fun with this brother/sister duo. They have the most beautiful souls and seem to be the best of friends. They exude joy and by the end of the session I think I made two new friends. I hope when they look back on these photos, they will see the beautiful connection they posses and continue to love and stick by each other.

The Low Down

I was asked a couple weeks ago by the amazing Shannon Holman to be interviewed on the Maternal Lens Blog. I almost replied “really, you want me???” So many amazing photographers that I greatly admire and respect have been interviewed on this very same site. I am so incredibly humbled and honored to be featured on their weekly Low Down Throw Down. Some of the questions had me reflecting back to when I first started out and how far I have come since picking up that first DSLR and trying to figure out where the eye hole was. God has been so good and blessed me beyond my wildest dreams. To do something I love that gives me so much joy and build a business off of it… its beyond me.

Below is a recent senior session, Ms. Sydney. This beautiful girl could be my poster child. Her look, her clothes, her poise ooze everything that I love. Remember THIS post? I talked about finding your style and sticking with images that make your heart sing. My heart was belting during this shoot and post processing. Sydney has a beauty from within that beams out of her and a light that that shines from her eyes.

I think I have a new found passion… engagement sessions! My favorite thing about my jobs is that I get invited in to observe monumental moments in people’s lives. It such an honor to be able to witness the miracles in life like new babies, graduating from high school, the joining of two lives, and most of all love…. I love to capture love, in any form I see it through my lens. I am so honored Maggi and Eric invited me in to capture this precious time in their lives.
